Serenity

So Ron and I finally saw Serenity last night. And I have to agree with most of what [info]xparrot said about it in her post two weeks ago. Great opening. Same great, snarky dialogue that marked the show. Satisfying (and spinechilling) look into River's background--and isn't her brother just too cool and so *hot* in his rescue of her?! River definitely gets her heroic Yoda moment. Shepherd's death hurt, but it felt right for the circumstances, and Mal and the crew's reactions to it were believable. But the other unmentionable crew death: absolutely, totally pointless! And unforgiveable of Joss Whedon not to have sent that character out--if he was going to do it at all--with a worthwhile, heroic death and appropriately mourned by Mal, Zoe, and co. Overall, I really liked it. Thought it was a great sequel to Firefly even if we didn't find out about Shepherd's mysterious past, and thought enough background was supplied to make it of interest to action/adventure/sci-fi fans who haven't seen the show, as well. 'Twould certainly be nice if it led to a revival of the show.

HELLO!!!!????!!! Way to ignore your "other" daughter's existence on lj! I write MUCH more interesting things than your other "real" daughters, so you'd better remember that!

Hello, yourself, bratdaughter!! I have NOT been ignoring you! I friended you and Signe the next day after I got my LJ and friended the daughters born of my body (needed time to go back to Gnine's journal and find your user name). AND I dropped you a quick email to let you know I had succumbed to their pressure and gotten a journal (of course that bounced for some inexplicable reason, and then I forgot to resend it later, soo....). But if you had checked out your "also friend of" list before you friended me, you would have seen my name there (and probably wondered who the hell stitcher2ficcer was!)

So, I'm glad you finally found me and friended me back, and I'm looking forward to reading your journal. I've checked it out a couple times in recent weeks and had assumed you rarely used it since it appeared to be updated quite infrequently. Which reminds me... why aren't your entries dated so one can tell when they were posted?

Oh, and if you don't "friend" me, you won't be able to read any of my entries, because they're all "friend only" (just so you know).

As I said, I DID friend you! Right away! You needed to *friend ME* before I could see your friends-only posts, silly! I don't have time enough this morning to catch up with your "MUCH more interesting things" than my "real daughters" write, but I'll check back as soon as I have a chance. I suspect I'll see less fanning or more of your "real" life than I see in their LJs, but I'm sure they're no less much more fresh and sarcastic.

Love ya', Ria!
